The Best Girls’ Weekend Ever
Check In

Kick off your girl’s weekend with a stylish group photo in front of the iconic Green Door–locals call it the Hobbit Door. Get ready because this weekend is all about pampering, shopping and sharing.

DAY ONE 2 PM

Green Door Lofts

DAY ONE 3 PM

Explore the Loft KICK BACK

While grandmas catch a cat nap in the luxurious triple-sheeted linens, the rest of you can plan your attack on Waco’s hot spots on the balcony. Rose or prosecco?

FOR STARTERS

See what the buzz is about Texas food truck cuisine is all about: Explore Torchy’s Tacos where their tacos are both political statements and amazing flavor combinations. Don’t miss Ceviche Del Mar, either.

DAY ONE 6 30 PM

Ceviche Del Mar

DAY ONE 8 PM

DiamondBack's FILL UP AND PLAN

Book a big table at DiamondBack’s. They’ve got cuisine for all tastes: steakhouse favorites, fresh sushi and maki rolls and even seafood. Strategize which shopping spot you want to hit first in the morning.

FUEL UP

Put on your comfy shoes and stroll over to Magnolia Table. Brunch it up and nibble on pastries from Silos Baking Co. Yes, all manner of java, espresso and iced tea drinks are ready in go cups as you get ready to tackle The Silos.

DAY TWO 9 AM

Magnolia Table

DAY TWO 10 30 AM

SHOP TIL YOU DROP

Walk over to the Silos to shop Joanna’s designs at Magnolia Market. Find that perfect piece for your place and help mom with some upgrades too. Lunch al fresco at the hidden food truck garden out back, and explore the grounds. Pop back into Magnolia Market to buy that thing you know you can’t live without. And keep an eye out for Chip and Joanna. They’re around.

OH SO SWEET

Stop by Silos Baking Co. on your way out to grab a sweet treat. Those with weary feet might head back to Green Door to dip feet in the pool. The hardcore shoppers should continue the hunt at Fox & Gray, a boutique owned by an LA stylist.

DAY TWO 2 30 PM

Silos Baking Co.

DAY TWO 5 PM

RELAX, YOU DESERVE IT

It’s time to meet up back on the balcony or in the pool courtyard back at Green Door Lofts. Sip on cocktails, cool off and catch up on the day.

Hecho en Waco

Take an evening approach to the Silos at Hecho en Waco. High-end Mexican is the menu, like the salmon chimichurri sala, and is a sure hit. Ask for an outdoor table to watch the sun set over the Silos. Go ahead: order a tequila shooter for your mom from the big tequila menu.

DAY TWO 7 30 PM

Mexican Food-Elevated

DAY TWO 10 PM

Barnett's Public House HIT THE TOWN

If you’re up for it–cool aunties included–check out nightlife at The Backyard Bar Stage and Grill. Play outdoor games or enjoy the live music. Up for a true dive bar? Barnett’s Public House is the place. Don’t miss the Waco mural outside and snap a pic for Instagram to add to family lore.

WAKE UP SLOWLY

Wake up to Jim’s mom’s oh-so-scrumptious cinnamon rolls–made with love by our beloved 82-year-old angel. Coffee and tea is already in your kitchen ready to plug in. Have a fashion show with the finds you scored yesterday while you spend breakfast on the porch.

DAY THREE 9 AM

Breakfast al fresco

DAY THREE 10 AM

MORNING STROLL

If you didn’t get in enough steps yesterday, wander across the Waco Suspension Bridge on the Brazos River in the morning light. Pop into Brû Artisan Coffee Works on the way there to add an extra bounce in your step.

Trip Home

So long, for now. Feeling pampered and refreshed with the girls, there’s more than enough reasons to plan your next weekend back in the heart of Texas.
